SSENSE MONTREAL | A space for appointments, events, projects, and conversations

Canadian luxury platform SSENSE opened their multi-level space earlier this year, housed within a 19th century building in the historical district of Old Montréal.

Spanning five floors, the brutalist space includes four floors of changing rooms, rotating art installations, and a glass-roofed cafe.

The interior, designed by the world-renowned David Chipperfield Architects features in-situ concrete structure, preserving the historic elements of the building while invoking a sense of the futuristic; much like the retail concept itself. What sets SSENSE apart from the traditional concept store is the lack of clothes in store to peruse.

Rather than stocking the space with clothing, footwear, and accessories, clients make their selections from the SSENSE e-commerce platform, the items are then delivered to the space and lain out for the client prior to arrival.

SSENSE hopes to build a community for the creative and fashion forward through not only the retail space, cafe and exhibitions, but as an event space.
