Premium New Zealand carpet maker Cavalier Bremworth proudly collaborated with iD Dunedin Fashion Week to sponsor the Cavalier Bremworth Wool Award for the second year running. The award recognises the designer who has made the most innovative use of the wonderful natural fibre, wool. It’s this shared belief in the virtues of wool that prompted Cavalier Bremworth to support the longstanding event and inspire the next generation of emerging designers to choose nature’s finest fibre for designing the most innovative collections.

This year’s recipient of the Cavalier Bremworth Wool Award, Dayun Lee, hails from South Korea and recently graduated from the London College of Fashion. Her collection ‘Acente’ draws dual inspiration from WWII military uniforms combined with the 1930s art movement of Picasso and Matisse, using vintage wool sourced from Scotland. “Using wool offers us endless design opportunities to explore,” explains Rochelle Flint, Cavalier Bremworth Group Product & Marketing Manager. “Wool’s structure makes it strong, soft and versatile. Our people are passionate about crafting it into unique and hard-wearing carpet and rugs, just like Dayun has fine-tuned her tailoring ability with wool to present her collection at Dunedin iD.”

Following the awards, Cavalier Bremworth took to spectacular Roselle Farm on Otago Peninsula for an exclusive photo shoot with leading fashion photographer Stephen Tilley.
